THE FU MANCHU CYCLE : LE PERIL JAUNE EN BLU-RAY

Au milieu des années 60, le producteur Harry Alan Towers qui détient les droits d’adaptation du personnage de Fu Manchu, génie du crime inventé par Sax Rohmer, se lance dans la production du MASQUE DE FU MANCHU. Ce premier film étant un petit succès à travers le monde, il va engendrer quatre suites où Christopher Lee tiendra le rôle principal dans une série qui se terminera par deux métrages emballés par Jesus Franco. Dans l'ordre, nous avons donc :

THE VENGEANCE OF FU MANCHU (1967) de Jeremy Summers

Jusqu’ici pour voir ces films, il fallait se tourner vers des éditions DVD en import et seul le premier film, LE MASQUE DE FU MANCHU, était disponible dans nos contrées. Les Anglais d’Indicator vont mettre la barre plus haut avec une boîte reprenant l’ensemble des films, tous bénéficiant de nouveaux transferts restaurés à partir des négatifs originaux et masterisés en 4K. C’est l’occasion aussi pour l’éditeur de proposer des interviews, commentaires audio, galeries de photos et autres bonus. Parmi ceux-ci, on trouvera aussi un épisode du serial de 1923 (THE MYSTERY OF DR. FU MANCHU), et celui de 1924 (THE FURTHER MYSTERIES OF DR. FU MANCHU), ainsi que d’autres choses dont on vous met la liste ci-dessous... Néanmoins, l’éditeur indique que d’autres suppléments sont susceptibles de s’ajouter à la liste et que celle-ci pourrait très bien changer... Ce qui est sûr, c’est qu’en plus des Blu-ray, cette édition contiendra aussi un livre de 120 pages, une affiche recto/verso et cinq reproductions de photos. L'éditeur annonce que ce coffret sera en édition limitée à 6000 exemplaires. La sortie est prévue pour le 19 octobre.
